April 17, 1929 — April 4, 2022

Mr. James Arthur Stuckey Sr., age 92 years, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born April 17, 1929 in Kiblah, Arkansas, the youngest of three children born to Nathaniel and Brimmer (Nard) Stuckey.

James married his childhood sweetheart, Ona, his wife of 58 years, on January 16, 1949. He was preceded in death on March 8, 2007. He was employed at General Motors (Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry) for 34 years, and was a member of UAW Local 668. James was a longtime member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Carrollton Township, Michigan, where the current Pastor is Reverend Delwin C. Tatum. James loved the outdoors. He was always at peace working and talking (barking orders) about his garden. James loved spending time with his family and he looked forward to every August for the family reunion. James had the biggest smile on his face when he saw his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren in his yard playing.

James leaves to cherish loving memories his five children, Prenella (Melvin) Nathan, Reverend James (Debra) Stuckey Jr., Patricia Hill, Dallas, Texas, Priscilla (Nathaniel) Cormier, and Jayson (Shaylett) Stuckey, Belleville, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Buelah Stuckey; cousins that were more like a sister and brother, Cleo Henderson and Willis Stuckey; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and special godchildren, the Carter and Williams families.

Mr. Stuckey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Joseph and Jonathan Stuckey; grandson, Melvin Nathan; brother, Nathaniel Stuckey; and sister, Syria Tyson.

The family would like to express a very special thanks to his caregiver, Jacqueline Thomas at Primary Home Care, his daughter-in-law, Debra Stuckey, and his daughter, Priscilla Cormier.
