Mr. James Walter Wilson was born November 16, 1946 in Berry, Alabama to Robert and Kattie Wilson. He completed his journey on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at age 72.
James graduated from Arthur Hill Technical High School, “Class of 1965.” A few years later, he began working at the General Motors Corporation (Saginaw Steering Gear), where he was a member of UAW Local 699. Through Delta Community College, he obtained a journeyman machine repair certification. After thirty-three years of dedicated service, he retired from his labor.
James was an extremely intelligent man that lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hanging out with family and friends, playing chess and dominoes, and many other things. He had an amazing sense of fashion and was always dressed to impress. Most importantly, he had a kind heart and would do anything for family and friends. He will truly be missed.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Kattie Wilson; brothers, William H., Milford, Charles, Michael, Thomas Wilson; uncles, George W. and Jimmy L. Wilson, Tom Bridgewater; aunt, Louise Williams.
He leaves to celebrate his life six children, James Jr., Michael Wilson, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Steven (Stepheny) Wilson, Clarksville, Tennessee, Jamie (Walter) Wilson-May, Saginaw, Michigan, DeLinda (Dean) Russell, Fort Worth, Texas, Pamela (Scott) Russell, Ypsilanti, Michigan; grandchildren, Bishop, Braelen, Braxton Russell, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Myles Russell, Fort Worth, Texas, Tiffany Jackson, Dennis Holden, James Wilson III, Latoya West, Demarcus Clemons, Ryan and Kayla Wilson; brother, Robert Lee (Isabel) Wilson, Saginaw, Michigan; special nephew, Thomas “Skinny Man” Wilson, Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; aunt, Annie Mae Bridgewater; first cousin whom he called sister, Brenda K. (Charles) Wilson-Dillard; sisters-in-law, Alcie “Bonnie” Wilson, Jessie Pearl Wilson, Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express thanks to special friends, Donella “Nell” Morris who loved and cared for him through his illness, and Elmer Curry; Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
