Mrs. Janice Rogers passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 64 years. She was born November 21, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Lawerance Sr. and Edith Walker.
Janice dedicated her life to Christ in1995 and was a faithful member of Word of Faith International Ministries where she served on the Usher's Ministry. She worked all of her life providing for her five children. She enjoyed having bible study when she was not in church and also enjoyed sitting on her porch watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory her spouse, Jerome Rogers Sr., Chicago, IL; five children, Jerome Rogers Jr., Joseph Rogers, Brian Rogers, Shabrena Rogers, Rosita Hobson; eight grandchildren, Marvin Hobson, Reginal Griffin, Charmaine Hobson, Jermaine Perkins, Crystal Hobson, Margaret Atkins, Corina Rogers, Kasharra Pratt; great-grandchildren, Quenaijah (Baby Doll) Nowell, Justice (Sparkle) Perkins, Deshawnte Boose, Mariah Hobson, Shaniya Hobson, Semiya Hobson, Odarie Rogers, Odaine Rogers; sisters, Jackie Walker, Pamela Walker, Anita Walker, a special sister, Mary Hobson Dison; brothers, Anthony Radford, Lawerance Walker Jr., Ronald Terry Walker, Darryl Walker; one aunt, Sister Rosie Morgan; special cousins, Michelle Cubie, Darlene Cubie, sister-in-law, Aunt B; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Linda Black and Linda Harris who was like a sister to her. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Covenant Healthcare-Harrison and the 6th floor ICU who worked hard to keep Mother Rogers comfortable.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawerance Sr. and Edith Walker.
