Mrs. Janie Mack departed this life Friday, August 23, 2013 at her residence. Age 81 years. She was born on May 29, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama to Nettie and Benjamin Grant. Janie attended Council High School in Einsley, Alabama. She married the love of her life, Mr. Andrew Mack Jr. Sonny Boy whom she was devoted to for 47 years. Janie owned and operated Janies Flowers and Tuxedo Shop on Washington Avenue for several years, but music was her passion. Over the course of time Janie managed several artists such as L.J. Reynolds of The Dramatics and her daughter Jeanette Mack-Jackson as well as many others. She was also a true woman of God, not ashamed to praise Him while wearing many hats in many ministries as well as serving her community. She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Jeanette (Patrick) Mack-Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan and Andrew (Michelle) Mack III of Elkhart, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Bridgette Blaylock of Atlanta, Georgia, Andrew (Shanell) Terry of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Shazzar, Jeremy (Mercedes) and Quentin Mack, all of Elkhart, Indiana, Andre (Amy) Dunnaway, Jerrika (Johnnie), Asha and Kiya Jackson, all of Saginaw, Michigan; nine great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jayden, Jordan, Andre Jr, Alia, Laila, Jaylen, Jordan and Jaren; special children, Doris (Woodrow) Hood, LaDean (Michael) Grant, Ruby Jones, Eugine (Cynthia) Jones, Virgle Jones, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Andrew (Lisa) Jones of Danville, Illinois, Larry Reynolds of Detroit, Michigan, Birney (Lydia) Sullivan of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Linda Taylor; one sister/cousin, Ethel (Tommy) Vail of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, Benjermin (Reatha) Grant of South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Ada Mack of Cleveland, Ohio; special friends, Lucy Smith, Cleveland Smith, Julia Sherrod, Bobbie Craver, Lerney Johnson, Pastor Vincent and Gwendolyn McMillon, the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church family and a host of other special grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends too many to name. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and Benjamin Grant, her husband, Andrew Mack Jr., two sons, Willie and Erskin Blaylock, three sisters and two brothers. The family wishes to express special thanks to VNA Hospice, Nurses Mary, Diana and Juila.
