Ja'Quez Jewan Moye-Young (Lansing)

Master Ja’Quez Jewan Moye-Young passed away, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing in Lansing, Michigan, at the age of 14 years old. He was born Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 7:04 a.m. in Lansing, Michigan to Kisha Skinner and Darieus Moye. He was the 4th of 9 children, between both parents.

Ja’Quez attended Lansing Eastern High School where he was in the 8th grade. Next year would have been his freshman year in high school.

Ja’Quez “STANK” had the brightest smile of anyone you could know, and it would light up any room. He was intelligent, funny, very handsome, loyal, and an awesome athlete, and did I mention FINE… Ja'Quez was driven and determined to be successful. He was currently in honors math for the past 2 years. Counting was his THANG!! I would call him my little entrepreneur. He knew how to get a few dollars and keep them/flip them. He enjoyed smelling good, looking good, having fun with his friends, loving and bullying his siblings. Ja’Quez was the protector and fighter for his loved ones.

Now he left us to fight for him and ourselves. I love you with all of me, BOI BOI watch over us and keep us safe.

Ja’Quez leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents, Kisha Skinner and Darieus Moye; maternal grandfather, Willie Young; paternal grandparents, Mary Moye and Eddie Moye; four sisters, Na’Tayviea Williams, Daria Moye, KaMyja Moye and Saniya Moye; four brothers, Zahquareon “Z” Murray, KaVari Moye, Dayzon Moye, and NyMeer Moye; three nieces, Ka’Miya Shadwick, Amoura Williams, and Zah’Riyah Murray; aunt, Yolanda Simmons; three uncles, Michael Skinner, Kimatki (Mark) Moye and Nakia Moye; 8 cousins, Khadijah (Dee) Moye, Avery Hoskins, Kiara Johnson; Shakira Johnson, Triston Johnson, Dijah Moye, Michael Skinner, Jr, and Vanessa Hoskins; many other family members and friends.

Ja’Quez was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jennie Brickles; paternal grandparents, James and Jocie Moye; maternal great grandmothers, Elise Brickles and Mamie Young; paternal great grandmother, Alberta Blakley; and aunt, Tamekia KaMesha Johnson.
