Jasmine Danay Reed

Jasmine Danay Reed was born September 27, 1989 in Saginaw, Michigan to L.W. Smith, Jr. and Michele Reed. She attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 2008.” In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, cooking and having fun. Jasmine excelled at many things but her passion was doing hair. She was a natural beautician. She was creative and precise. Knowledgeable and patient. She was funny and kind and her clients enjoyed being around her.

Above all, Jasmine was a family-oriented person and loved their company. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, but most importantly she was a mother. The kind of mother who put her children first and made sure they had a loving and safe home. Her children, companion and family knew they were loved by her because not only did she say it, she showed it. Her beautiful spirit and fun personality will be missed and forever remembered.

On Sunday, July 15, 2018, God called our beloved Jasmine to be home with Him. She joined her grandparents, L.W. Smith, Sr., Eddie Mae Smith, Robert Reed, Annie Beatrice Reed and best friend, Dominique Garth, who all preceded her in death.

She leaves to celebrate her life father, L.W. Jr. (Betty) Smith; mother, Michele Reed; two daughters, Ja’laijah Reed, Ja’Meelah Ball; three sons, Demario Artrell Barnes-Wilson, Jr., Camryn Ball, Javari Smith; sisters, Crystal Taylor, Diamond Winchester, Tiara (Justin) Amos-Stevens, Sharda Nash; brothers, Louis William Smith, III, DeQuavis Smith, Davonte Barnes; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including her loving companion, Arrit Ball and special cousins, Sabrina Smith, Latoya Franklin and Shanta Reed.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. Fly high Jasmine and watch over us all.
