Jason Lewis (Lansing)

Jason Lewis was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 15, 1979 and went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2017.

As an adolescent Jason was involved in sports and had a passion for music. He graduated from Lansing Public Schools and later in life decided to attend the Barber School of Cosmetology in Columbus, OH.

Jason is preceded in death by his mother: Barbara Southwell, maternal grandmother Rita Bird, maternal grandfather Thomas Southwell and paternal grandfather Curtis Lawrence Sr; and special aunt, Wyhoma Mendenhall. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his son: Jacob Lewis (Columbus, OH); father, Curley Lewis; paternal grandmother, Lillie Mae Lawrence; sister, Jamie (Derek) Bogner of Morrice, Michigan; sister, Jessica Banks of Lansing, Michigan; nieces, Lyric Banks, Justice Lindsey and Samantha Bogner; nephews, Javon Reeves, Kyle Bogner, and Brandon Dunning; devoted family members, Fatima (Virgil) McDaniel of Columbus, Ohio and a host of family and friends.

Jason will always be remembered for his acts of kindness and willingness to give to others. He cared about everyone, especially his family and would always put a smile on a frowning face. Heaven has gained one amazing angel.
