Jazzlyn Patrice Townsend passed away on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the age of 30 years old. Jazzlyn was born March 12, 1985 in Saginaw, Michigan.
Jazzlyn Patrice Townsend affectionately known as Jazz was a 2003 graduate of Carman Ainsworth High School in Flint, Michigan. She received her medical assistant certification from Genesee Area Skill Center in Flint, Michigan. Jazz was a loving, caring and devoted mother of three wonderful children. She was an immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed cooking full course meals, baking, playing games and having puppet shows. One of her favorite family traditions at Christmas was making gingerbread houses with her children.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Javion and Brandon; one daughter, Madison; her devoted parents, Lawrence and Bridgett Townsend; two brothers, Lawrence (Stacey) Townsend and Issac Townsend both of Flint, Michigan; two sisters, Laia (Eldon) Hill of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Tiffany Richardson of Saginaw, Michigan; a praying grandmother, Patricia Prescott; one uncle, Minister Willie (Robin) Prescott both of Saginaw, Michigan; two aunts, Joann Townsend and Diane McGee both of Flint, Michigan; four great-uncles, John (Sherly) Bowen Jr. of Mesa, Arizona; Elder Paul (Vicki) Bowen of San Antonio, Texas; Minister Jeffrey (Gerri Lynn) Bowen, Brian (Carrie) Bowen all of Saginaw, Michigan; five great-aunts, Elder Dorothy (Leon) Burns, Geri Walker, Elaine Richardson-Cook, Stacey Bowen and Elaine Whitley-Bowen all of Saginaw, Michigan; great-great aunt, Ann Merkerson of Brownstown, Michigan; god-daughter, MeMe Richardson of Saginaw, Michigan; her "Baby" Brandon Bowen of Detroit, Michigan; godparents, Whitney (Greg) Willis of Saginaw, Michigan and Robert Cook of Escanaba, Michigan; two special friends, Kenneth Baskins and Annie Underwood; a host of loving cousins and friends.
Jazz was predeceased by grandparents, Elder John and Mother Voncile Bowen, A.D. and Christina Townsend, one aunt, Lorraine Townsend, uncle, Edward Townsend, great-uncle, Tyrone Bowen and one uncle very dear to her, Marlow Prescott.
