Jeremiah "Jerry" Ervin

Mr. Jeremiah "Jerry" Ervin entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by loved ones. Age 94 years. He was born on January 19, 1923 in Rust County, Texas to Sellow and Ora Lee Ervin.

Mr. Ervin was a longtime resident of Saginaw. He was a supporter of the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Jackson. Mr. Ervin was a hard worker. He worked construction and demolition prior to starting his own business in the ‘60s. He loved quartet singing and attending gospel concerts. Most of all, Jeremiah enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Jeremiah Ervin leaves to cherish loving memories six daughters, Jeryl Ervin, Jennifer Ervin, Delores (Arnette) Boone, Sr., Zipporah (Rufus) Jackson, Jr., Betty Harris and Kimberly (Randall) Hall; four sons, Michael Ervin, Benjamin Ervin, Jerry Cochrane and Jasper Morgan; 48 grandchildren; special granddaughter, Brittany Harris Ervin; 109 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ella Williams, Leora Gipson, Azalene Stephenson and Clara May Jordan; many nieces and nephews; special niece,Yvonne Flowers; other relatives and friends.

Mr. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Sellow and Ora Lee Ervin; his wife, Sunshine Ervin; two daughters and three sons; four grandsons; one great-grandson, Anthony Smith; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Norma Faye and Mary Ervin; five brothers, Frank, Richard, J.T. James and Cecil Ervin.
