Jerry Brison

February 4, 1945 — December 30, 2018

Mr. Jerry Brison, son of Henry and Alma Brison, was born February 4, 1945 in Philadelphia, Mississippi. He departed this life after a lengthy illness on December 30, 2018.

Jerry attended public schools in Philadelphia, Mississippi. He later relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where he met and was happily married to Grace Diane (Poole) Brison for thirty-three years. Jerry resided in Saginaw for fifty years and was employed at Schafer (Gase) Baking for thirty-five years, from where he retired.

Jerry joined Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Roosevelt Austin. He attended Zion for many years singing in the male chorus and leading noon prayer and bible study on Wednesdays. He later joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church along with his family under the leadership of Dr. Willie Hill, Jr. He was a faithful member of Mt. Nebo until the Lord called him home.

Jerry enjoyed fishing, eating, swimming, drawing, dancing and going to amusement parks. He loved singing, listening to music and reading the Bible. His favorite scripture was Psalm 103:1-5. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and being a loving husband, caring father and brother. He fought the good fight. He finished his course. He kept the faith. And there is now laid up for him a crown of righteousness. Well done Jerry, you were a good and faithful servant.

He leaves to remember him fondly his loving wife, Grace Brison; seven daughters, Sharlene (Andrew) Brison-Watkins, Angela Brison, Lena Robinson, Shree Robinson, Vanita Spears, Shanta Hoosier; four sons, Jeffrey Lowery, Jerry Brison Jr., Gerald Robinson, Patrick Robinson; an abundance of grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Graham, Mary Ann Simmons; sisters-in-law, Freda McNair, Julie Poole; brothers-in-law, Kevin Poole, John McNair; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Brian McGill, Catherine Raines and Dr. Willie Hill, Jr.

The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant ICU Unit, Nurses Becky and Sharon, Dr. Willie Hill, Jr. and the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Family, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
