Before the break of day on Friday, August 4th, the Lord whispered to Jerry “Job well done my son, my kingdom awaits you, it is time to go.”
Jerry Coleman, affectionately known as “Lil Jerry” was born to Jerry and Pamela Owens on May 24, 1977, in Saginaw, Michigan. Jerry attended Saginaw Public Schools and completed his educational journey at Job Corps in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was good with his hands and had a knack for learning how to fix things on his own; if he could not figure it out he would find the right person to teach him how to complete the task. Jerry loved his family and had a special way of making everyone feel like they were his favorite. He enjoyed helping everyone, whether it was yardwork, moving, cleaning something or barbecuing for a family event, Jerry would be there. In his spare time, Jerry loved to play dominoes, cards, play on the Playstation 4 with his little cousins, and spend time with his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Pamela Coleman-Owens; grandmother, Addie Mae Owen; sisters, Andrea RayVonne (Jamie), and Latonya; brother, Taurean “Toe;” nephews, RaSean and Peter; nieces, RaShonda and Jamiah; great-nephew whom he affectionately called his “G Man," Xy’Aire; his loving companion Keshia Love and her children, Marcus Jr., Demetric, and Sha’Thalia; her grandchildren; My’Ashia, Demetric Jr., Elias, Madison, McKenzie, Semalia and Royal Barney; godmother, Cheryl Lowe; Jerry also shared a brotherly bond with Bay Bay, Steve, SMO, Jay, Tasha, Tan, Tiffany, Deeddrick, Toya, Aric, Lisa, Dion, Resa, Pook, Michelle, Felecia, Moonie, Tanesha, Eddie, Willette, Tony, Stacy, and Pooh Joe. Jerry also leaves uncles who were father figures to him, James, Ronald, and Tony Owens as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Jerry Owens; grandfathers, Granville and Willie Roy; grandmother, Willie Mae; aunts, Bertha, Callie, Bonnie, and Myra Kay; uncles, Willie D. and Thayer “T;” his special cousins, Tamaris “TJ,” Tonquinisha “NeNe,” Tamarea, Kevin, Calvin and Mike Chappell, and his "Gemini" Darrell "Danky" Harris and a host of other relatives, and friends.
Jerry loved his family so!
