Jerry Earl Bass

Mr. Jerry Earl Bass passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 52 years. Jerry was born September 24, 1970, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Barbara Bass Hill, and Edd Donald.

He attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a Saginaw High School Trojan. Jerry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. One of his favorite pastimes was working on cars. Jerry’s hobbies included fishing, putting model cars together, bike riding, and spending time with family and friends. He was a great provider for his family. He loved having fun and “talking smack” to his friends and family. Jerry will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his life partner, Angelica Jimenez; one daughter, Marie Bass; five sons Jerry Boykins, Andrew Bass, Christopher Boykins, Leroy Bass, and Deterryion Parham; six stepchildren, Orlando Jimenez, Emmanuel Mathis, Dwayne Mathis III, Jordan, Elijah, and Raven Mathis; grandchildren, Coryontay and Nevaeh Jordon, Jalen Hill, Jeremesha and Jerenesha Forte, Jervarious, Jerry Jr., and Jaelyn Smith, and Shamar Jr.; grandmother, Annie Donald; four sisters, LeShon Bass, Joanne (Kenneth) Choyce, Wendy Christian, and Virginia Dunn; four brothers, Brian (Tara) Nelson, Deedrick (Latoya) Lowe, James Hill, and De’Quavion Anderson; three nieces, Alysia, Lynett, and Aaliyah Williams; four nephews, Lil’ William Pearson-Buford, Ronald Monroe Jr., Demarcus Bass, and Kentavion Choyce; ten aunts, Lillie Jackson, Bernadette Jones, Velma Samuel, Diane Holliman, Emma Donald, Ella (Isaiah) Smith, Maggie Donald, Delphine Donald, Martha (Rick) Jones, and Mary Greer; five uncles, Jerry (Thelma) Earl, Ricky Calloway, Melvin Donald Jr., Dennis (Glenda) Donald, and Earl (Christy) Winters; a host of cousins; four special cousins, Jon Jackson, Thomas Calloway, Fredrick Calloway, and Tommy Bass; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Kenneth Choyce, John Edwards, Fred Baston, Alicia Dore, James Vaughn, Slim, Keith Lynn, Mario Smith, and Brother Muhammad.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Bass Hill, and Edd Donald; stepfather, Theodore Hill; grandmother, Dorothy Bass; grandfathers, Joseph Bass, and Melvin Donald; great-grandmother, Annie Wright; son, Jerry Smith; uncles, David Bass, Joseph Bass Jr., and Frederick Calloway; brother, Monte Wilson; grandson, Andrew Bass Jr.; great-granddaughter, Tyleah Forte; and friend, Jason Green.
