Jerry Vaughn

February 16, 1964 — December 26, 2018

Mr. Jerry Vaughn was born February 16, 1964 in Greenville, Mississippi to James and Theretha Vaughn. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the age of 54 years.

Jerry, known as Brother Jerry or BJ, lived most of his life in Saginaw, Michigan. He was employed by the Saginaw County Commission on Aging and he loved this job. He enjoyed helping people and had a passion for assisting the elderly and children. When he wasn’t working, bowling and fishing were his favorite things to do.

Jerry was a humble man that loved to sing. He loved God and ministered to people whenever he had the opportunity. He was a part of Mercy Ministries, Holy Spirit Revival and many training classes. He was wise, outspoken, kind, caring and compassionate. He was always there if you needed someone to talk to or just needed a shoulder to cry on. He was a father to many children and his presence will be missed.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, James Vaughn and stepmother, Claire Vaughn.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Pastor Daphne Vaughn; mother, Theretha Vaughn; two daughters, Teresa Vaughn, Jackson, Mississippi, Carolyn Vaughn, Pontiac, Michigan; son, Jerry Vaughn, Jr., Pontiac, Michigan; two stepchildren, Ertonya Bishop, Saginaw, Michigan, Richard (Ronae) Bishop, Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jazmone Jones, Houston, Texas, Ravonna Carpenter, Mya West, Kania West, Thomas Carpenter, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Esther Vaughn, Pontiac, Michigan; great-grandchild, Kayden Lee Ivey; sister, Denese (Michael Clark) Vaughn; two brothers, Arthur (Trudy), Jerome (Winnie) Vaughn; stepsisters, Rhonda (Mark) Bryant, Sabrina Brandon, Turina (Ronnie) Trower; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Ethel Coleman; brothers-in-law, Hallies (Rosemary), Trent (Mary), Tryce (Oddie) Coleman; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Paul Juarez, Pastor Donald Weston, Elder Ruby Stanton, Elder Dexter Thomas, and spiritual parents, Bishop Richard Murphy, Earl and Faye Fisher, Apostle James and Leona Glenn.
