Mr. Jesse Wilford Jr. passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 69 years. He was born June 26, 1944 in Wisner, Louisiana to Jesse Wilford Sr. and Ethel Price.
Jesse attended school in Wisner, Louisiana before relocating to Saginaw, Michigan. He was employed by General Motors before moving on to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he spent most of his adult life. He began employment with Brian Harris Chevrolet where he worked as a porter. Jesse later relocated back to Saginaw, Michigan to be closer to his brothers where he resided until he departed this life. He loved making people laugh by always playing jokes on them. Jesse enjoyed playing dominoes. His most enjoyable moments were the times he spent with his beloved children and grandchildren. Gone but not forgotten, his presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Carter-Wilford; his children, Wendy (Troy) Walker, Caroline (James) Williams, Jerome Wilford, Myrtis and Monique Jackson, Royricus Ridley, Roy and Ronald Jackson, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Derrick Wilford and Heather Parish, both of Opelousas, Louisiana; four stepchildren, Cassandra, James, Stephanie and Christopher Johnson, all of Monroe, Louisiana; thirty-one grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nela Mae Richards and Charlotte Richards-Thomas; seven brothers, Emmit (Carol) George of Virginia, Sherwood Richards of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Russell Richards of Wisner, Louisiana, Charles (Gwen) Jones, Don Wilford and Anthony Todd Wilford, all of Saginaw, Michigan; several nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts and uncles, Barbara (Huey) Buck, Max Carpeaton, Francis Mayo, George Price II and Ezell Price; many other relatives and friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Wilford Sr. and Ethel Price, grandparents, Nela and George Price, Susie and Richard Wilford, one son, Jesse Wilford Jr., one brother, Riley Richard.
