Jessie Lee Allen McCray Wrights Life Story
Jessie Wright gained her heavenly wings and flew home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 20, 2013. Age 93 years. Jessie was born on February 6, 1920 in Shady Grove, Alabama to Adel Edison Rogers and Isom Allen.
Jessie moved to Rutledge, Alabama in 1940. There she joined M.B. McCray in holy matrimony. From this union three children were born, Virginia, Stephenine and Bettie Faye. Jessie relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1946. She met Huey Wright in 1947 and together they had six children, Paulette, Donnell, Craig Lanelle, Delores Ann, Joyce Marie and Harold Duane. Jessie had thirty-nine grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Jessie cleaned homes, worked at the cleaners and a restaurant until she was no longer able to work. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor E.W. Bothuel where she served on the Mother Board. Jessie enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and pokeno with her family and friends. She loved her church family and her friends at the Davenport Manor. Her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adel Edison Rogers and Isom Allen, two daughters, Paulette and Bettie Faye.
