Jimmie Green

June 22, 1942 — May 5, 2020

On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, Jimmie Lee Green, loving father, grandfather and brother, transitioned at the age of 77 years. He was born June 22, 1942 in Rayville, Louisiana to Tom and Elizabeth Green.

During his adolescent years, Jimmie enjoyed playing the trombone in the marching band in high school. After graduating from high school, he received his degree in criminal justice at Saginaw Valley State University.

Jimmie was known by many to keep you laughing with the same jokes over and over during the years. He was a sports fanatic and loved the Detroit Lions and Pistons. He had a great love for the city of Detroit. Jimmie was great with his hands at remodeling homes. He would often say, “Boy, aint nobody bad like my boy!” He was also an avid music lover, with one of his favorite artist being Patti Labelle. His smile, his laughter, his sense of humor and his presence will truly be missed.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Elizabeth Green; one dear sister, Flossie Burns; four brothers, Tommy, Lannie, Oscar and Royal Green.

He leaves to celebrate his life six children, Janice Brown, Bernadette Green, Saginaw, Michigan, Michael (Dina) Brown, Memphis, Tennessee, April Williams, Ariel Green, Saginaw, Michigan, Tyree Green, Sacramento, California; seventeen grandchildren, Jeremy, Jasmine, Alexus, Trivon, Carlisha, Carlnisha, Carl, Nyea, Iatayla, Quincy, Destiny, Indya, Mi’ere, Christian, Brittany, Emmanuel, Anthony; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella (Emery) Aldridge; Letreanna, Rafael, Charles and Damarlan Brooks, whom he raised and affectionately called his children; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
