Mr. Jimmie Lee Jackson (Po-Jack) passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at St. Marys of Michigan after a lengthy illness. Age 63 years. He was born June 10, 1947 in Union Springs, Alabama to Lewis and Margaret Jackson.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was blessed to find gainful employment with General Motors Saginaw Parts Plant in 1967 also was a member of UAW Local 647 and later transferred to Flint V8 Division before retiring in 1997. In 1968, Jimmie met and married Annie L. Baker and to that union three children were born. He loved baseball, softball and was known as the Bar-be-que King to his Harold street family.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 41 years, Annie L. Jackson; three children, Marcus Jackson, Deonte Redeemer, Briana Jackson (Willie Farmer); seven special grandchildren; two brothers Taylor Jackson, Niagara Falls, NY, Bennie Jackson Hempstead, NY; seven sisters, Bessie Queen Simmons (Lovely D), Margaret (George) Baskins, Donna (David) Smith all of Union Springs, AL, Vina (Nate) Grace Uniondale, NY, Ann Crittenden, Niagara Falls, NY, Mattie (David) Worthy, San Jose, CA, Lillie (William) Harrell, Las Vegas, NV, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including three special nieces that he nurtured and cared for, Cindy Jackson, Connie (Larry) Gray and Deborah Trice; God-sister, Emma McFadden; sisters-in-law, Gladys Gaines, Josephine Breckenridge, Brenda, Evelyn, and Michelle Baker; brother-in-law, Michael (Sherri) Baker.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Margaret Jackson; two brothers, John Henry Jackson, Lewis Jackson Jr.; sister, Sue Mae Jackson.
