Mr. Jimmie (James) Lewis Woods Sr. passed away Friday, July 19, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 71 years. He was born May 9, 1940 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Estelle and Johnnie Woods.
James was retired from the Department of Public Works in the state of Minnesota. He enjoyed playing the lottery and his guitar. He was married to Nancy Woods for 29 years, she survives him.
Surviving besides his wife are his children, James Jr. (Colleen) Woods, Audrey (Steve) Kilgore McIntyre, James and Gregory Cunningham, Curtis, Evette and Yolonda Woods; grandchildren, Brittany, Paige, Andrea, James III, Daisha,
TyAnada, Derrick Jr., DeOni, Octavia, Ignacia, RayOnna; sisters, Betty Woods, Ora Mae Houston; brothers, Willie (Sheila) Woods, George Woods, Joe Woods; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Elijah Hughes and Lorenzo Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Delores Woods; grandson, Lamont Kilgore; great-grandson, Darius Luke II; parents, Estelle and Johnnie Woods; brothers, Theodore, Alton and Peter Woods; sisters, Clara Brandon and Earline Davis.
