Joan Leslie Crawford

The Lord sealed the lips of His Child, Joan Leslie Crawford at the age of 77 on the evening of Thursday, November 26, 2020.

Joan was born to the late Robert Crawford and Maxine Dangerfield on November 7, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was education in the Saginaw Public School system and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1961. She later attend Saginaw Valley State University where she received her business degree. She was married to Ollie Lee Sangster in which their union resulted in three children, Derek Lee Sangster, Tracy Merschell Boswell and the late Virgil Andre Sangster.

Joan work as an administrator in the Saginaw Public School System and retired in 2003 after serving as a Senior Executive Secretary at Saginaw High School. Early in life, she was an athlete, who was an excellent volleyball player and an outstanding bowler. Joan had a love for cooking and baking. Joan was a strong woman with an amazing personality. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Dangerfield; her father, Robert Crawford; her son Virgil Andre Sangster; a sister, Gwendolyn Golden; a brother, Milton Dangerfield; two grand-daughters, Brit’ne D’Nae Pickett and Jacquesha Antoinette.

She leaves to mourn her precious memories with her son, Derek Lee Sangster (Paulette), Manassas, VA and daughter, Tracy Merschell Boswell (Carmen), Dumfries, VA; a daughter-in-law, Connie Sangster, Saginaw, MI; her siblings, Deborah Dangerfield Ortis (Phillipe), Brooklyn, NY, Cynthia Dangerfield, Detroit, MI, Natalie Dangerfield Willis (Everett) , Detroit, MI and Terrant Pritcher, Pensacola. FL; her grandchildren, D’Ron Taylor (Varshae), Dumfries, VA; Amber Enyard (LaMont), Lorton, VA; LoRell Pickett, Woodbridge, VA; Andre Johnson, Easley. SC; DeAndre Sangster, Vista. CA; Dominique Beale (William). Houston, TX; Branden King (Nicole), Osceola, IN; Amari Sangster, Saginaw, MI; Tanita Rance, Charlotte, NC, Yashianna Hines, Knoxville, TN; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends Eileen Watson and Mary Ann Richards, Saginaw, MI; a sister-like cousin Margo Hampton. Saginaw, MI; special friends, Levi Lewis, San Diego, CA and Johnny and Daphne Gibson, Atlanta, GA.
