Ms. Joel Marsha Gill-Munro departed this earthly life on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the age of 44 years. She was born January 17, 1970 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands to Fitzroy and Eulyn Gill.
Joel briefly lived in Puerto Rico, and Brooklyn, New York. She also lived briefly with her maternal grandparents in Trinidad and Tobago from the age of 3 years to 9 years old. At the age of 9 years old she came to Saginaw, Michigan where she resided with her parents, Eulyn and Artis Mathews. Joel was a non-denominational Christian who was baptized. She was a 1988 graduate of Saginaw High School and later went on to graduate from Bayshire Beauty Academy in 2004. There she received her manicuring certificate. Joel had an extensive yet successful work history that included working over 10 years as a technician with Michigan Blood. She enjoyed spending quality time with family. Joel maintained a special and very close relationship with her mother. She was an animal lover who spent her free time caring for her dogs, CoCo, Nestle, Contessa, Zeke and Brownie. In her spare time Joel did an extensive amount of shopping and home improvement projects. She was a kind-hearted, loving and positive individual who loved life and fellowshipping with friends and family. Her wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her mother, Eulyn Mathews; five sisters, Jennell (Eric) Robinson, Jennifer Mathews, Joanne (Frank) Hall, Cheryl and Karen Gill; one brother, Fitzroy Gill II; several nieces including her special nieces, Terry Ann Jade, Marie Bacchus, Brandy Hall and Daja Walker; several nephews including her special nephews, Steven Hall, Michael and Evan Robinson; aunts, Eastlyn Velda Walker, Marva Joseph, Yvonne Scipio, Yvette Barrington, Cheryl Ramsubhag and Irma Tuitt; uncles, Charley Gill, Desmond and Carl Remy; several cousins including her special cousins, Jenise Gomez-Burns, Tricia Scipio-Yard and Rachelle Ramsubhag; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Steven Little, Precious Little, Nisha Woodhouse, Mary Little, Ramona Williams, Ty Bond, Timothy Hopson, Damaine Green, Chetna and her many special friends at Michigan Blood.
Joel was preceded in death by her father, Fitzroy Gill, her maternal grandparents, Egbert and Florence Remy, paternal grandparents, Norman Gill and Merle Samuel.
