Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin, Joey Blair Joe departed from this earth to his eternal home with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his residence in Independence, Missouri. Age 53 years. He was born August 1, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ollie Lee Sr. and Josephine Blair.
Joe was a 1978 graduate of Saginaw High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army. He was employed by Eaton Manufacturing as a machinist for many years. As one door closed, Joe was off and running to kick another one open. He was an adventurous man, always seeking new opportunities to improve his quality of life. He resided in Dallas, Texas, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Independence, Missouri. Joe had many gifts, talents and hobbies. He was most proud of his drawing and singing abilities. He enjoyed fishing with his dad, vacationing, sports, reading and tearing things apart and putting them back together. He especially enjoyed creating his gourmet meals that made everyone a little nervous and he loved a good debate. If there were words to describe Joe they would be, tenacious, resilient, determined and courageous would be fitting. If he were here he would say, Dont forget, brilliant. Joe will be missed tremendously by his family and all who loved and had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joes memory will be cherished by his wife of 20 years, Barbara Blair; one daughter, Shantoya Blair; father, Ollie (Eudora) Lee Sr.; one sister, Julie Blair; three brothers, Ollie Lee(Cynthia) Blair II, Kenneth Blair and Dennis (Brenda) Blair; one stepbrother, Tommie (Theresa) Gipson; four sisters-in-law, Brenda, Linda, Debra and Odessa; one brother-in-law, Talmadge Braddock; two aunts, Goldie Harris and Alberta (Clarence) Myles; two uncles, Johnny (Cleo) Blair and Willie D.
