John Thomas Brown, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend went home to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center. Age 76 years. John was born August 23, 1935, the son of John Thomas Brown and Beulah Hollis Brown in Buena Vista, Georgia.
He spent his early years in Buena Vista, Georgia and lived in Hartford, Connecticut for many years. John T. Brown moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1958. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry Powertrain after 44 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 668. He was also a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a member of the Laymans Board.
He enjoyed cooking cuisine, listening to music, playing the guitar and was an avid animal lover. He also loved to sketch and draw. He loved studying the Word of God and singing in his church choir. He accepted Christ into his life at an early age as his siblings lovingly recall how Brother preached every animals funeral.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of 40 years, Juanita Brown; his three daughters, Jackie (Jerome Sr.) Hawkins, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, Kimberly (Wendell) Williams, Locust Grove, Georgia, and Victoria Brown, Monroe, Michigan; one son, Marcus Thomas Brown, Saginaw, Michigan. He also leaves to cherish his memories, eight grandchildren, Rashar J. Brown, Sr., Sharonne L. Hawkins, Jacob L. Hawkins, Kristin China-Marie Brown, Jerome Hawkins, Jr., Dana John Hawkins, Robert Allen Markise Benjamin and Kendall Jabria-Suemone Williams; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Sierra, Chance Craig, Rashar J. Brown, Jr. and Noah Hawkins.
John T. Brown also known as Brother will be dearly missed by his siblings, Sallie Lou (Lester) Martin, New York City, Beulah (Sidney) Harmon, Bloomfield, Connecticut; nieces, Joyce (Joe) Daniel, Marilyn (Bobby) Oglesby, Jacqueline Sanders Na-Na, Mary Sanders; nephews, Tyrone Sanders, Scott Anthony Sanders and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Bennie Morris (Marshall) Sanders and Gertrude Dawkins; his daughter, Joy Denise Brown; brothers, Charles Brown, Newman Henry and Jack Henry and one nephew Jerome McClinton.
