John Carpenter

March 8, 1946 — December 31, 2020

John Thomas Carpenter was born March 8, 1946 in Arlington, Tennessee to Robert Sr. and Eva (Scott) Carpenter. God called him to his heavenly home on December 31, 2020 at the age of 74 years.

John married Fannie Mae Tinsley, who preceded him in death. He later married Earlie Mae Thomas, who also predeceased him. John was a member of Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Eddie Bragg. He was employed by General Motors Malleable Iron Plant and worked diligently for 43 years before retiring.

John was preceded in death by two wives, Fannie Mae Carpenter and Earlie Mae Carpenter; parents, Robert Sr. and Eva Carpenter; two sisters, Alma T. Ector and Dorothy L. Tate.

He leaves to cherish his memory three stepchildren, Tanya, Marcie and Eric; one sister, Early Mae Adams; brothers, Robert Jr. (Darlean) and James (Carolyn) Carpenter; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including BEST FRIENDS Curtis and Vera Riggins and Family, Dr. Eddie and Co-Pastor Margaret Bragg, Weldon Ector “Pete”, Mr. & Mrs. George Moncrief and Cleveland Williamson.

The family would like to express special thanks to John’s loving friend and caregiver, Linda Braddock, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
