John Centeno, Jr.

John Jesse Centeno Jr., known as Tito, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his home. John was born February 4, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, and lovingly raised by Anita Castillo Rangel Torres.

John was a resident of Saginaw Township and graduated from San Antonio High School. He attended Delta College, majoring in Law Enforcement; he worked at Freeland Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer and Security Officer at a local hospital. Tito was known for his talent and creativity, especially sewing (tailoring & dress-making), upholstery, landscaping, decorating & organizing events, and spending time with close family members. He had a special love for Ayden, Angelia (Lilly), Marcelo, Valenzia, Miya, and Gabriel who were very much included in his immediate family.

Residing in Saginaw, Michigan, he leaves to cherish his memory his spouse, Maria Luna Centeno; one daughter, Rosicella Luna Centeno, and one son, Kyle Luna Centeno; mother-in-law, Rev. Leonor Luna; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and many godchildren. Special thanks to Herlinda Vasquez who he saw as a mother figure, and to her, like a son. Special acknowledgments to Angel Garza, Melissa Odette, Rose Staudacher, Dr. Elsa Olvera, Uncle Martin Ortega, and Julie Campbell for his health-support team.

John was preceded in death by (Lovingly raised by) Anita Castillo Rangel Torres and Baby Angelito Luna Centeno.

The family would like to express special thanks to all family members who gathered in times of need, Dr. Veronica Lorenzo, and hospice nurses, Mike, and Maria. We would also like to thank the following for their love and support: Eva Pease, Lynn Staudacher, Sean Staudacher, Brad Odette, other family members supporting us during the time of hospice care, and those traveling from near and far. Maria, Baby Angelito, Rosicella, and Kyle greatly appreciates ALL who came together.
