Mr. John E. Johnson of Saginaw, Michigan passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at St. Marys of Michigan. Age 79 years. John Johnson was born August 12, 1930 in Helena, Arkansas to Ollie and Edgar Johnson.
Mr. Johnson married Mattie Halmon on August 27, 1950. She survives him. John retired from Grey Iron Foundry in 1980 and was a member of UAW Local 668. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 60 years, Mattie; children, Mildred, Drueada (Ronnie), Mary Alice (Michael), Connie, Heneretta, John Jr. (LaWanda) Johnson; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Davis, Doris Billingsley, Catherine ONeal; two brothers, Woodrow and Walter Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Chris Hood, William Dix.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a daughter, Kishna; parents, Edgar and Ollie Johnson; one sister, Doris Johnson; one brother, William Johnson; son-in-law, William Harvey.
