John Henry Jordan

December 24, 1952 — December 3, 2020

Our beloved King, John Henry Jordan, transitioned December 3, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw Michigan at the age of 67 years. He was born to Joseph Sr. and Rose Mae (Strong) Jordan on December 24, 1952 in Inverness, Mississippi.

John was educated at Gentry High School in Indianole, Mississippi. He moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1970, where he met his sweetheart, Geraldine Miller. The two married and two children were born to this union, Andrea and Taqiyyak Jordan.

John worked as a machine operator for General Motors for thirty-six years and was a member of UAW Local 362. He retired in 2006. John loved spending time with his family and had a love for cars and sports.

John was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and Mildred Jordan and mother, Rosemae Jordan; granddaughter, Shaytoria Jordan; brother, James Page; sisters, Elizabeth Turner, Faye Williams; godson, Deonta Williams; mother-in-law, Martha Miller; brothers-in-law, Bill Turner, Robert Henderson; sister-in-law, Joyce Williams; best friend, Percy Washington.

He leaves precious memories with his wife of 47 years, Geraldine Jordan; three daughters, Andrea Jordan (Marlon Jackson), Taqiyyak Jordan (Silas Smith) and Timika Reynolds; grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Markeyah, Deja, Makayla, Tykeyah, Caiyah, and Silas; siblings, Joseph Jr. (Veronica) Jordan, Hubert Jordan, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Deloris (Terry) Miller, Kendall (Linda) Bryant, Nelson Bryant, all of Chicago, Illinois, Ernest Bryant, Peoria, Illinois, Perry Bryant, Felicia Jordan, both of Inverness Mississippi, Glenda Griggs, Macon Mississippi; two uncles, Bishop Willie and John Dixon; sisters-in-law, Mary Jordan, Rosie Miller, Alberta Miller, Tammy (Pastor Ernest) Reed, all of Saginaw, Michigan; brother-in-law, Luamark Miller; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other loved ones and friends, including special friends Michael Lawrence, Sr. and the Washington Family.

Our family would like to extend special thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s CCU Staff, Pastor Hurley and First Lady Coleman and the WOC Family, Pastor Ernest and First Lady Reed and Greater Solid Rock Baptist Church, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
