Mr. John Jackson passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 86 years. He was born August 15, 1923 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Steve and Mary Jane Jackson.
John was a member of Spiritual Israel Church and a member of Wonderland Gospel Singers. He retired from Saginaw Malleable Iron and was a member of UAW Local 455. He loved to discuss the bible and was very fluent in scripture quotations. He enjoyed TV Westerns and visiting with his many friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Evelyn Murphy; two daughters,
Verna (John) Ellis, Cynthia Hatfield-Williams; two sons, Michael (Lois) Buchanan, Ron Williams Sr.; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends, including a nephew, F.J. Jackson, Ft. Worth, TX . The family would like to express a special thanks to Registered Nurses, Carmen, Kathy, Tina; Dr. Abdul and Chaplain Michael for their excellent and compassionate care, sister, Cynthia Hatfield-Williams for her constant presence, support and care for dad.
John was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lela Mae Robinson; two brothers, Steve and Willie Jackson.
