John "Joe-Joe" Walker, Jr. (Lansing)

January 4, 1964 — October 31, 2022

Mr. John F. Walker, Jr. transitioned from his earthly home to his Heavenly home on Monday, October 31, 2022, in Pinola, Mississippi. Age 58 years. He was born on January 4, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan. He was the son of Cora Jean Walker and John F. Walker, Sr.

John aka “Joe-Joe” was a resident of Lansing, Michigan for all his life. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Lansing J. W. Sexton High School Class of 1982 and after graduation, he enlisted in the army where he served from November 1982 to November 1985. He built his trucking company, Walker Transport, Inc. from the ground up, and was in business for over 30 years. John loved spur-of-the-moment traveling, attending Detroit Lions games, boxing events, riding ATV’s, and fishing with his family and friends. John was an incredibly friendly person and had a larger-than-life personality that touched everybody he met. Not a single person was a stranger to him, everyone was family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 35 years, Tina Walker; three daughters, Kayla (Taylor) Thompson, Kendra (Casey) Walters, and Kyra Walker; mother, Cora Jean Walker; siblings, Delisa (Rodney) Holmes, Brenda Johnson (Kenny Wilson), Damita Walker, Saundra Woodard, Breedy (James) Wilson of Rockford Illinois, and Rudolph Griffin, Jr. (Ciara Hudson); many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, John F. Walker, Sr. and brother, Ray Walker.
