John Lee Patterson, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. John Lee Patterson, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Sparrow Health System, Sparrow Campus, Lansing, Michigan, at the age of 44 years old. He was born Friday, February 2, 1979, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of John L. Patterson, Sr. and Jennifer A. Patterson.

John graduated from Lansing Everett High School, a member of the class of 1997. He attended Lansing Community College where he completed their Firefighter and EMT program. John was employed at General Motors until his death. He was an avid runner and took his workouts very seriously, John would be outside for hours with his dog, Tunka. He enjoyed sports and was a loyal MSU fan. John also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son, Jordan.

John is survived by his only son, Jordan Ford, who he loved beyond the moon and back; parents, John and Jennifer; brothers, Trenell (Yolonda) Anderson, Jermane (Dawn Jones) Patterson, and Tyrell (Yomaira) Reed; sisters, Janay (Davies McAbee) Patterson, and Maleka Blocker; aunts, Theola Beard, Gladys Beard, Cecelia Beard, Sandra Torry, Annette McGhee, Gloria (John) Edmond, Gwen (Tom) Edmond, Shirley (Patrick) Green, and Juanita (Willie) Patterson-Peters; uncles, Herman (Anne) Beard, Hollis Beard, Ward Beard Sr., James (Willa) Patterson, Marvin (Ellen) Patterson, and Don Patterson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including his best friend, Shondell Jones (AKA Uncle Chill to Jordan).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James & Leodora Patterson, Herman Sr. & Zeola Beard; many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
