Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to his Savior on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital. Age 74 years. John D. Livingston Sr. affectionately known as "Leaky" and 'Topcat" was born to Essie B. Culpepper and Hanson Pitts Sr. on May 03, 1939 in Columbus, Georgia.
John relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1953. On September 2, 1961 he joined Christine Doxie in holy matrimony, she survives him. John was employed at General Motors Grey Iron Plant and was a member of UAW Local 668. He retired after 54 years of faithful service. He served as a Specialist with the Michigan National Guard for 12 years. John was a devoted member of New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor R.E. Donald where he served on the Finance Committee. John was an avid grocery shopper and enjoyed working on older modeled cars. John leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 52 years, Christine Livingston, Saginaw, Michigan; five children, John D. (Michelle) Livingston, Jr., Ypsilanti, Michigan; Yvonne Livingston, Saginaw, Michigan; James (Helen) Livingston, Saginaw, Michigan; Christopher (Sharon) Livingston, Austin Texas; Derrick Livingston, Bowie, Maryland; one brother, Hanson Pitts Jr., Flint, Michigan; one sister, Ulanda Smith, River Rouge, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Esther Mae Napier, Lima, Ohio, Sarah Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan, Hattie Doxie, Saginaw, Michigan; Three brothers-in-law, Robert Louis (Eva) Doxie, Florence, Alabama, Emmite O. (Nancy) Doxie, Jr., Saginaw, Michigan, William H. (Geraldine) Doxie, Sr., Bridgeport, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one uncle, Dr. Carl Jones, Columbus, Georgia; many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Essie B. Culpepper and Hanson Pitts; two sisters, Laura Jean and Patricia Pitts; one sister-in-law, Alma Jean Pitts; five brothers-in-law, Arthur Napier, James Johnson, Harper Pitts, Joseph Doxie and Tommie N. Doxie; one grand-daughter and one great-grandson.
