John Frank Vines went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Lansing, Michigan. Age 71 years. He was born August 26, 1946 in LaFayette, Alabama to his parents, Cleve and Peggy Vines.
John moved to Albion, Michigan at the age of 16 and worked at Harvard Industries for 33 years. He moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1978. John enjoyed watching football especially the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan Wolverines. He loved speed, fast cars, going to the raceway, riding motorcycles; playing billiards or pool and spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Anna O. Vines; 3 daughters, Annabell Williams of Albion, Michigan, Sharon Staley of Palm Bay, Florida, Stephanie Logan of Cocoa, Florida; 2 sons, John Vines, Jr. and Jeremiah Vines both of Albion, Michigan; 2 stepdaughters, Brenda Logan and Michelle Logan both of Lansing, Michigan; stepson, Darian Logan of Lansing, Michigan; 4 sisters, Laura Mae Windfield and Louise Fitzpatrick both of Battle Creek, Michigan, Betty Jean Moss of Madison, Wisconsin and Marie (Lamont) Sherrill of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 4 brothers, Billy (Betty) Vines, Bobby Lee (Peggy) Vines and George Vines all of Battle Creek, Michigan and Daron Vines of Madison, Wisconsin; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins including special cousin Ocie Holloway and cousin/best friend, Nolan Leverett of Albion, Michigan along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Reginald Vines, Cleveland Vines, and Eddie Louis Vines and sister, Gloria Vines.
