John Wright

John has fought a good fight and he has finished his course. The Lord has called home a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. John passed away suddenly in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Saginaw, MI to John and Hazel Wright. After John attended the Carrollton Public Schools, he joined the United States army. He worked for Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry. John was a professional truck driver; he loved driving sixteen and eighteen wheelers. He drove from one end of the U.S. to the other. John worked for many trucking companies in Illinois and Indiana for years. He was certified in Family Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. He was a member of The International and AM Mason and Order of Eastern Star Mary Magdalene Chapter State of New York. He was a private, quiet, laid back and upbeat person. John was a friend to many. John joined Tabernacle Baptist Church while he was living in Saginaw. He moved back to Indianapolis and joined a Pentecostal Church.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Hazel Wright, first wife Elsie Mae Copeland Wright, two sons John Wright III and Keith Vincent Wright, one sister Effie Lou Wright- Jackson, brother-in-law Mose Tolliver, a niece Hazel Wyatt, and two nephews Mark Dean Ellis and Anthony Tolliver Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Donna Ann (Charles) Jones of Magnolia AK, Tara Yanise Wright of Gary, IN and three sons, Vincent (Tameka) Wright of Peekskill, NY, Michael (Keri) Wright of Jacksonville, FL and Jon (Lisa) Wright of Virginia Beach, VA. Four sisters, Dr. Marie Wright Tolliver of Saginaw, MI, Johnnie Mae Owens of Hesperia, CA, Delores (Ron) Puplava of Belvedere, IL, Constance (Otis) Jack of Matteson, IL and Bonnie Price of Detroit, MI, the mother of four of his children and close friend Jean Wright (Thurman) Sanders, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grand children. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
