Johnathan Stanfield (Lansing)

Johnathan Stanfield passed away March 16, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 60 years. He was born November 17, 1962, in Indiana. The son of Betty-Mae Francis Stanfield and Oscar David Beard.

Johnathan is the second oldest born to Betty-Mae Francis Stanfield. As a teenager he was very resourceful and eventually moved to Lansing from Indiana. Once he moved to Lansing, he became known by everyone as “Stanny-Baby”. He attended Community Hope Church under Pastor Belynda Cage. “Stanny-Baby” loved watching sports, but football is mainly what he watched. On Sunday and Monday nights he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His daughter, Jalisa, has fond memories of her father where they ate doughnuts and just had fun together.

“Stanny-Baby” leaves to cherish his memory children, Jalisa Myles, his first born, and James Stanfield, his second born; grandparents, Delmar Odell and Lucy Stanfield; sister, Connie Francis Stanfield; brothers, Anthony Ray Yarbrough, Marvin Dale Yarbrough, Robert Earl Yarbrough, and Harold Stanfield; and many cousins including special cousin, Darrell Stanfield.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Bertha Stanfield-Smith and uncles, Leon Stanfield and William Stanfield.
