Johnnie Davis Jr., passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at his residence. Age 81 years. He was born July 27, 1929 in Benton, Mississippi to Lucy (Brown) and Johnnie Davis Sr.
He was employed at Grey Iron Foundry for 35 years and retired in 1992. Mr. Davis was a member of UAW Local # 668.
Johnnie leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Johnnie Jr. III (Venus) Davis, Jeffrey Davis, five daughters, Denise (Collins) Davis -Guillebequx, Linda Davis, Ivy Whitehead, Terrie L. Davis , Tarra J. Davis; 15 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Shorty, Otha Mae Binz, Helen Ford, Emma (Cozy) Smith, Mildred Allen; two brothers, Rev. T. Brown, Walter (Barbara) Davis; three aunts, Mattie Henderson, Lucille Garner, Helen Brown; one uncle, William Davis; many other relatives and friends, including a special neighbor, Lawrence Hood (Toby). The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Jaswal and Staff.
He was preceded n death by his parents, Lucy and Johnnie Davis Sr., one son, Alonzo Melvin Davis, one sister, Nancy Davis.
