Mr. Johnnie L Turner Jr., a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away Monday, April 18, 2011. Age 67 years. He was born July 22,1943 in Edwards, Mississippi to Reella and Johnnie L. Turner the first of thirteen children.
Johnnie was baptized at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, MS and later renewed his relationship with God when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was employed at Delta College for 24 years where he hardly missed at day at work, arriving early every day. He loved to sing and play the piano and guitar, he also enjoyed working in his yard. He was very passionate about life and always put his family first. He was very strong and out-spoken, you would never have to guess what was on his mind. He was a true gift to this world and touched anyone within his reach. He will be missed and loved forever.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 30 years, Maria E. Turner; 4 children, Marco Turner, Christina Loperena, Maria Turner, Johnnie Turner III; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six sisters, Hazel, Clara, Tina, Gail, Nell, Chandra; four brothers, Charlie, John, Patrick, Willie; two aunts; two uncles; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Robert Turner, Carl Ruth and Rev. Bishop.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie L. Turner Sr.; maternal grandparents; two sisters and three brothers.
