Passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009. Johnny Hinds was born on March 26, 1945 in Greenville, MS to Robert Hinds and Luella Watson. Mr. Hinds was a member of Faith Charity Pentecostal Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1967. He retired in 1990 from the Malleable Iron Company and was a member of UAW Local 455. Mr. Hinds enjoyed fishing, hunting, entertaining family and friends, especially his racing car friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Runnell Hinds, he leaves four daughters and three sons to cherish his memory: Johnny Hinds, Jr., Reginald Riley, Minnarrow Stewart, Bridget Y. Hinds, Salicia R. Green, Asineth Stewart and Chrisshondra Hinds; his mother, Luella Watson, stepmother Emma Cannon of Gary, IN; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 9 sisters, 5 brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, one aunt, 2 uncles, numerous cousins, 5 sisters-in-law and 12 brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hinds, stepfathers, Isiah Cannon, Sr. and Augusta Watson, a son, Henry Hinds, brother, Larry Cannon, sister, Catherine Kelly and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to express special thanks to Johnnie redeemer, Antwon Mims, Willie Allen, the staff at Saginaw Bay Area Regional Dialysis, Dr. Santiago, Heartland Nursing and Hospice, Region 7, Kenyatta Miles, Covenant Visiting Nurses Association, John at Oakland Orthopedics, Elijah Norris, Albert Wells and James McCullogh.
