Mr. Johnny Horace Trice was born July 1, 1952 in Laurel, Mississippi to Horace Trice and Callie Murphy Claybrone. He passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the age of 67 years.
Johnny’s family moved to Chicago, Illinois when he was just a boy and they lived there for a short period of time. The family later moved to Saginaw, Michigan where he enjoyed his adolescent years on the south side of the city.
Johnny enjoyed playing numbers and playing cards. He was known for dressing and talking sharp. He was a joy to be around and he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelly Trice “Red”; mother, Callie Trice; sisters, Geraldine Surles, Carolyn Roberson; brother, David Trice; nephew, Delvon Trice.
He leaves a legacy of seven children, Damon Stephens, Tanisha Garrett Bowman, Desmond (Ashley) Trice, D’Angelo Trice, Shana Simmons, Adrian Tyus, Lesia Bowens Wheatley; fourteen grandchildren; six siblings, Henry Trice, Marie Lowery, Anthony Trice, Vanessa Trice Nina Thomas and Kevin Trice; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special nephew, Henry Allen Trice and special friend, Winston Walker.
