Mr. Johnny Lee Dawkins passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center. Age 66 years. He was born January 9, 1951 in Louisville, Mississippi to Johnny M. Dawkins and Colean Carter-Dawkins.
Johnny was a very kind and wonderful man who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was known for lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Johnny enjoyed watching television; however, his favorite pastime was listening to “the Blues.” Johnny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Bridgette Grimmett; his mother, Colean Carter-Dawkins; sisters, Mildred Dawkins and Emma Harmon; brothers, Cozy Dawkins, F.C. Dawkins, Jim Dawkins, Lee Dawkins and Alfred Dawkins; a host of nieces and nephews; special nephew, Carlos Zaragoza; special friends, Marie Beasley, Crystal Beasley, Annie Fields, Vanessa Humes-Johnson, Wayne Jernigan and Collin Johnson.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnny M. Dawkins, and niece, Alicia Zaragoza.
