Johnny Mcgee

June 27, 1964 — May 27, 2021

Johnny Tyrone McGee, beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed away at the age of 56 years on Friday, May 27, 2021 at Covenant Hospital after a short illness. He was born June 27, 1964 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert and Beatrice McGee.

Johnny was employed at the Saginaw Housing Commission for many years and volunteered at Old Town Church and the East Side Soup Kitchen. He attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and enjoyed being in the fellowship of the fellow believers. He has left us with a legacy of love for family and friends, and he was a true Michigan State fan. Go Green. Go White.

Johnny was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Beatrice McGee; brother, David Lee McGee; sisters-in-law, Maye and Diana McGee.

He is survived by two daughters, Shatira and Shayla Stevenson; grandsons, Imarion Stevenson, Malik Williams, Jayden Barnes, Gabriel Stevenson; granddaughter, Ka’Myah Stevenson; grandson, Jayvon Stevenson; siblings, Robert McGee, Jr., Jessie (Bertha) McGee, Annie (Charles) McKinley, Curtis (Anita) McGee, Eugene (Yolanda) McGee, Linda Stuckey, Ronnie (Hattie) McGee, Jeffery McGee, Angela (Anthony) Baker; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special cousins Willie Strong “Coot”, Freddie Lee Moten and special friends Demetrius Handley and Lamont Robinson.

The family would like to express appreciation to all who celebrated with us in his life transition. Special thanks to Covenant Healthcare and Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
