Jolene Adkins passed away June 23, 2021 at the age of 80 years. She was born August 17, 1940 in Greenville, Mississippi to Jack and Leola Moncrief, coming to Saginaw, Michigan in the early years of her life.
Jolene attended Saginaw Public Schools. She graduated from the old Saginaw High on Warren Street. Jolene married Luther Adkins, and to this union one son was born. She worked and retired from Big Boy Restaurant as a head cook, and she also sold Avon for many years.
Jolene gave her life to Christ and attended church in Vassar, Michigan with Deb Bridgewater. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed cooking, walking, and watching her soap operas (and everyone knew not to call her after 12:30pm). Jolene loved her red lipstick. She was a lady at all times and will truly be missed.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Leola Moncrief; three sisters, Marie Smith, Nicky Parker, Alberta Brodnex; one brother, Willie Ray Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Bruce Adkins; two grandsons; three sisters, Imogene Moncrief, Eva Ray Hayden, Yvonne McGhee; two brothers, Leroy Moncrief, George (Ernestine) Moncrief; her daughter for many years, Susan Reynolds; half-sisters, Willie Carter, Janice Lee, and Lois Baber Sims; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends, including special friends the Baber and Baston Families.
The family would like to thank PACE, Rayen A.F.C. Home, Rachel D. Martinez, Ernestine Moncrief for her love and faithfulness to Jolene, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
