Joseph Amos Dixon Jr. beloved son, brother, uncle and friend went peacefully and mercifully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Good Friday, April 22, 2011. He was born September 25, 1952 in Muskegon, MI to Minnie and Joseph A. Dixon Sr.
Joseph graduated from Saginaw High School in 1970 where he played on the football, wrestling and cross country teams. Upon graduating from high school, Joseph attended Delta College. During his career, Joseph worked for General Motors and Saginaw Community Hospital. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church (Mt. Olive) all his life. He was a member of the Male and Adult Choirs. Joseph loved to stay physically active by walking and lifting weights regularly. He was known for his sweet tooth, inquisitive mind, hard work ethic and love for driving. He was totally committed to spending time with his family especially during holiday's and special occasions. Joseph was a true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ and saw life through the lens of his belief.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph Sr. (Minnie) Dixon, Ypsilanti, MI (formerly of Saginaw); siblings, John L. Dixon, Flint, MI, Charles (Sharolyn) Dixon, Plymouth, MI, Diane Dixon, Ypsilanti, MI, Linda (Karl) Nichols, Austin, TX, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends including dear friends, Deborah Dixon and Sylvia Logan.
Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Carl D. Ford.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord will reward me on that day". 2 Timothy 4:7-8. We will miss you here on earth, but look so forward to the day when we are reunited with you in heaven.
