Joseph Crook, Sr. (Lansing)

Mr. Joseph Demill Crook, Sr. (also known as Joe Cleezy) passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2021, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 43. He was born November 12, 1977, to Caesar Dunwoody and Melinda Jean Crook in Lansing, Michigan.

Joseph gave his life to Christ and was a faithful member of Abundant Grace Faith Church in Lansing, Michigan. He had a love for people and blessed everyone with his great smile and positive attitude. He served as a volunteer coach for youth sports for many years and supported many community events. He made everyone feel like they were family, always giving and his smile would light up the room.

Joseph was a stone-cold MSU Spartan fan, he could easily be spotted in his Chevy Caprice or Tahoe, MSU flags waving wildly. He enjoyed cooking, music, and spending time with his family and friends.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Ingrid Crook of 3 years: children Daquaria (Patrick) Bishop, Damauria Crook, Joseph Crook, Jr., Yazmin Crook, Brooklynn Crook, and Skylar Crook; father, Caeser Dunwoody; siblings, Chad (Jennifer) Crook, Sr., George Crook, Stephen Dunwoody, and Sherrod Dunwoody; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members, and too many special friends to name.

He was preceded in his death, by his beloved mother, Melinda Jean Crook; grandmothers, Patricia L. Burr and Annie C. Dunwoody-Terrell; and grandparents, Edward, Sr., and Fannie Crook.
