Joseph Oliver Frye (Lansing)

Joseph Oliver Frye passed away on February 27, 2020 surrounded by family at Sparrow Hospice in Lansing, Michigan. Age 88 years. He was born on February 22, 1932 in Rural Range Township, Ohio, to Ottaway and Ruth (Tyree) Frye.

Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and worked at General Motors for over 20 years as a member of U.A.W. Local 652 until a car accident forced him into early retirement. He loved putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading the Holy Bible daily, and spending time at home with his wife and dog, Ponchy. He was a wonderful husband, caring father and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Olga (Hernandez-DeLeon) Frye; daughter, Sara (Fiancé, Ricky Anderson) Hernandez Dorty; sons, Joseph Michael (Jill) Frye and Feliciano (Kelly) Hernandez; stepchildren Nora (Rocky) Adams, Josias, David, Noé (Lorrie), Severo (Ellen), and Elva (Marvin);sister, Peggy Wilson many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Abigail Ruth Henry; granddaughter Kearra Marie Hernandez; sisters, Bette and Annabelle; brothers, Cleo, Donald and Leroy.
