Joseph Scott, Sr.

Mr. Joseph Scott, Sr. passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Age 71 years. He was born September 19, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Wilton and Martha Scott.

Joseph had been a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, before relocating to Texas. In Saginaw, he attended Harris Temple Church of God in Christ. Joseph played football at Buena Vista "BV" High School and was a member of the BV graduating Class of 1971. Joseph was a retiree of General Motors Arlington Assembly in Arlington, Texas, with 43 years of service. In his leisure time, Joseph loved to watch football, and he enjoyed cars, fashion, and drawing. He will be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Everlean Robinson Scott of Arlington, Texas; one daughter and two sons: Joseph Scott, Jr. (Tamara Andrews) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dante (Emily) Scott and Lakesa Wilburn, both of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren: Rayquan Degroat, Keeshawn Degroat, and Terrion (Adrianna) Wilburn; one sister, Minister Dorothy Scott Wicker (Minister Bradford Wicker); six brothers: James Scott, Elder John (Vanessa) Scott, Robert (Peggy) Scott, Curtis (Vanessa) Scott, Wilton Scott, Jr., and Eugene Scott; many nieces and nephews; four aunts: Everlyn Griffen of Cibilo, Texas, Alice Brown, Isabella Jackson, Angeline Ryans all of Saginaw, Michigan; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Mary Jane Robinson; brothers-in-law, Robert (Doris) Robinson, Curtis Robinson, Lucius (Olee) Robinson, and Roosevelt (Geneva) Robinson; seven sisters-in-law, Charlotte Robinson, Janice Robinson, Hattie (Willie) Wilson, Martha Mitchell, Sheila Robinson, Janie (Jerome) Brackett, and Geraldine Harley. 

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Wilton and Martha Scott, and his grandparents, Henry and Mary Sue Hannibal.
