“A Great Soul Serves Everyone All the Time. A Great Soul Never Dies. It Brings Us Together Again and Again.” - Maya Angelou
Joseph Lee Seay, the seventh of twelve children of Sam Seay and Carrie Pearl Seay was born July 31, 1954 in Pine Hill, Alabama. On November 13, 2017, our Father picked a bright smile from our midst and bore Joseph away to his eternal home.
Affectionately called ‘Joe’ by his family, Joe confessed Jesus Christ at an early age and was reared in Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Having educated in the Pine Hill School System, Joe worked many years for General Motors.
Joe’s love for people was indicative to his unselfish giving as he opened his heart and home to others and was loved by all those who have had the honor to know him. His warmth, enthusiastic spirit, and smile were infectious, as he never met a stranger. Joe’s truest passion was his relationships with all he knew.
His greatest accomplishment was his family for whom he had a great love; thus his legacy is that of an adoring brother, proud
father, doting grandfather, and loving uncle. Our beloved Joe leaves to treasure his life, legacy of laughter and zest for life, his wife Nikki; children: Carrie, LaTasha, Joseph, Brook, Starla, Desean, Nicole, Donnis, Nykyra, Cardell, Chris, Ronnie, and Ski; sisters: Rosie January, Dorothye (Charlie) Turman III, Sarah Seay, Ola (John) Jackson, Lydia Thompson, Sherry Seay; brothers: James Seay and Garry (Sharon) Seay; beautiful grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Joe is reunited with his parents, Sam and Carrie Pearl Seay; brother: Samuel V. Seay; and sisters: Earnestine Seay, Marjorie Seay, and Rebecca Strayhorn.
