Josephine Mary Moore

Ms. Josephine Mary Moore gained her Heavenly wings and entered the kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the age of 96 years. She was born August 26, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Samuel and Beatrice Young.
Josephines parents relocated to Wayne, Pennsylvania when she was a toddler. Jo as she was called by friends and family was a happy child growing up. She was considered a perfect child by her parents because she cared for her younger siblings. Jo joined 2nd Baptist Church in Wayne, Pennsylvania. There she was baptized and became a member of the Baptist Young People Union.
Josephine attended Mt. Pleasant School in Wayne, Pennsylvania and was a 1939 graduate of Tredyffrin Easttown Senior High School. She was the supervisor of the laundry room at Valley Forge Military Academy. Jo moved to Saginaw, Michigan in the early 1950s to care for her ailing uncle Dennis. She met and married Robert West. During this time she managed the restaurant inside the Cabana Lounge. After the death of her husband Robert, she met and married the late William Moore. Josephine was a lifetime member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. There she served on the Senior Usher Board for over 40 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Clifford (Risa) West; grandchildren, Caressa West of Tampa, Florida, Klaressa, Ethan and Clifford West Jr. all of Saginaw, Michigan; four sisters, Rosetta Austin and Jean Young both of Wayne, Pennsylvania, Carolyn Young and Mary Louise Nance both of Columbia, Maryland; two brothers, William Young of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Samuel Jr. (Shirley) Young of Berwyn, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law, Shirley Young; many other relatives and friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by one son, Robert West Jr., two husbands, Robert West and William Moore, one brother, Jimmy Young "Crimp", four sisters, Avis Young-Fells, Hattie Young-Jones, Dorothy Young-Davis and Idell Young.
The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone who offered kind words and condolences.
