Josephine Tinsley

July 21, 1930 — December 21, 2011

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt walked through the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Age 81 years. She was born July 21,1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Rev. Jake Bynum and Lottie Parker-Bynum.
Josephine married Walter Tinsley Jr. January 28, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan and to that union four children were born.
Josephine worked at The Good Neighbors Mission for over 15 years, where she loved helping others. Josephine really loved the Lord. She was a member of Bethel AME Church for over 50 years until she became ill. Josephine was a memeber of it's Usher Board #1, Sunday School Teacher, Steward Board and a prayer warrior. She loved to serve others in the jail ministry, communion and food. Visitors to her home never left with an empty stomach. Josephine loved to cook. She loved her family and friends and after church on Sunday's, her home was filled with both.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Patricia Tinsley, twin sons, Lloyd Tinsley, Louis (Yolanda) Tinsley: eight grandchildren, Latisha Tinsley, Lavenia (Melvin) Price, Deparis Tinsley, Sharnae Tinsley, Roina (Shaun) Cane, Dareic Tinsley, Ericka Tinsley, Ladazsha Tinsley: ten great grandchildren, Shadaria, Lativa, Troionte, Kaila, Demarquise, Xanavia, Jalen, Aniya, Mason, Matthew, four great-great grandchildren; E'Mariyon, Dream, Domani, and Vontez: one brother, Paul Bynum; two brothers- in- law, Herbert Tinsley, James (Cleotha) Tinsley;two sisters- in -law, Barbara (John) Burton, Agnes Roberson as well as many other relatives. Jospehine had several friends and two special friends, Mildred Burton and Della Meanes.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Walter Tinsley Jr., daughter Cynthia Tinsley, two sisters, Fanny Mae Carpenter and Dorothy Crawford.
The Family would like to thank Lynn Meanes for her help, support and patience as well as Dobson Healthcare and Covenant Visiting Nurses Association.
