Joshua Zuriel Hall (Lansing)

March 10, 1998 — February 11, 2021

Mr. Joshua Zuriel Hall entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 11, 2021, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 22 years. He was born March 10, 1998, in Lansing, Michigan to Nathan and Michelle Hall. He was the fourth of five Hall children and deeply, deeply loved. Joshua knew that he was loved by the Lord and he loved Him as well. He gave his life to the God of The Bible at a young age (Joshua 1:7-9).

Affectionately known as “Joshie”, Josh was incredibly sharp, funny, kind, and touched the lives of everyone he met. He loved his family and friends and often went out of his way to give them a helping hand. A graduate of East Lansing High School, Josh was a member of AP Physics, the cross-country team, and the school’s jazz band.

Josh enjoyed many hobbies and was talented in many areas. He was an outdoorsman, and some of his many outdoor activities included kayaking, hiking, and camping. Josh also loved to longboard and would do so all around the city, listening to music as he went. He also loved to play Super Smash Bros. with his friends, family, and online competitors. One of the areas Josh was talented in was cooking. He experimented a lot in the kitchen, but he loved barbecue most of all. Another one of Josh’s talents was his knack for landscaping and outdoor gardening, but specifically only outdoor gardening. Josh was not to be left with indoor plants.

Above all else, Josh had both a passion and gift for all types of music. When he began playing the tenor saxophone in high school, it immediately captured his heart. He loved jazz most of all, and hearing him play his sax was like warming your soul next to a fireplace. Josh played for a few years in a jazz band with some of his close friends. The name of the band went through many iterations, but “Jazz Combo V” was the most respected.

Joshie will be fondly and dearly remembered. Celebrating his life will be his parents, Nathan and Michelle; his siblings, Taylor (Brian) Kardell, Kara, Nathan II (fiancé Stephanie), and Carolyn; grandparents, Carolyn Grace (Umar) Abdullah, Lyris (Michael) Johnson, Leslie (Yvette) James, Larry (Theresa) Hall; aunts, Traci Gilbert, Cheryl (Huvairo) Bush, Nicole Grace, and Nanette Lee; uncle, Carl Grace, niece, Amari Ann Hall; best friends Arturo Pena and Haarika Vaddella; many, many cousins that he treated as siblings, and many friends. We all love you so much, Josh.
