"Josiah - supported by God. God has healed."
“Josiah was eight years old when he became king..." II Kings 22:1
"He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and followed completely the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left." II Kings 22:2
"King" Josiah Lee Webster was born Friday, September 4, in the year of our Lord 2015 to Eddie Jr., and LaQuoia Webster in the city of Lansing and the state of Michigan.
Josiah accepted Christ at age 5 and was baptized at Union Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Melvin T. Jones and Deacon Wayne Lynn on July 25, 2021. He attended Sunday school, participated in the Angel and youth choirs, puppet ministry, and recited Easter speeches on resurrection Sunday. Josiah sang his first solo, "I’m Somebody Special" at age 3.
Josiah was a fourth-grade student at Cole academy, excelling academically often with nothing less than all A's. In December of 2024, Josiah earned the honor of being named "Student of the Month." He was so proud.
As an avid sports fan, he loved watching and participating in soccer, basketball, T-ball, and football. Football was his favorite! He played corner and running back for Grand Ledge. Josiah enjoyed playing all positions in soccer, but his true passion was goalie. What an athlete!
His favorite college football team was the University of Alabama, and his favorite NBA team was Golden State Warriors. At any given moment he could be found imitating Stephen Curry. Josiah loved Roblox, SpongeBob SquarePants and shopping at Target.
He spent countless hours hanging out with his dad in the man cave talking sports and discussing the pre-season roster for Alabama. Roll tide!
Did he ever love wrestling! Josiah's favorite WWE wrestler was Roman Reigns. He would wrestle his life-sized, stuffed wrestling figure; playfully wrestle with Harmony; and he was certain to get wrestling action figures out of whomever he had asked to take him to Target. His birthday and Christmas lists were sure to include whatever WWE action figure he needed to add to his collection. Josiah's excitement about wrestling made his whole family fans again. He would personally invite his family members over for WWE wrestling parties at his home. His parents took him to Summer Slam and Friday Night Smackdown shows and he was ecstatic to see all of his favorites live and in living color.
Josiah was a grateful child. For any gift or act of kindness he received, one of the ways he expressed his gratitude was to have his mother record him and send the video of thanks to the giver.
Josiah was a comforter and encourager to his friends and family. One particular day at school, there was a tornado watch, and the children were afraid and had to take shelter. Even though he was afraid himself, it was Josiah who prayed for his classmates and offered words of comfort. He told them: "Nothing can stop us."
Josiah was competitive! He would take to his I-pad and send a video to a rival fan of an opposing sports team, with a message of, may the best team win and a virtual handshake. He was a gamer and often challenged people to play video games with him on his PS-5. Josiah did not like to lose. If he thought you might beat him in a game, he would become your teammate instead. But if he knew he could beat you, game on!
Josiah had an eclectic taste for all types of music. One of his most recent favorite songs was "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns and Roses. This song was played during one of his football games and after hearing it, he was hooked! Another of his favorite songs was "TV Off” by Kendrick Lamar. He constantly asked Alexa to repeat this song and would "wile" out, along with his uncle Kenny and mom, at the part of the song that goes "Mustard!"
Josiah was a worshipper! He and his mother prayed, sang songs, and read bible stories together before bed. Josiah was unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He would pray in school, at church, and at home.
He was preceded in his passing by his sister LaNiyah Lee Webster. King Josiah was Eddie jr. And LaQuoia's rainbow baby. He indeed was God's promise. Also preceding his passing were his paternal and maternal great-grandparents.
