Mr. Jovan Maurice Evans passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born on April 2, 1986 in Saginaw, Michigan to Velma Samuel and Stacy Welch, Sr.
Jovan was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was member of New Gaillee Full Gospel Baptist Church as a child. Jovan loved to cook, play basketball, and spend time with family. He enjoyed dancing and gambling, and he was good at both. Jovan was full of life his smile could light up a room.. He was a slick talker who could talk you out of anything. Jovan was very opinionated and would express himself very confidently. He will be missed by family and friends who loved him beyond measure.
He leaves to cherish his memory eight daughters and 2 sons, Jovanna Evans, A’Kiya Evans, Jada Jackson, Jovan Evans, Jr., Jakheiyia Highshaw, Javen Evans, Jhavi Evans, Saniyah Wright, Journee Evans and Serenity Clark; his fiancée Shaniqua Hamilton and children, Shaniya and Shane Hamilton; grandson, Jovan Evans, III, parents, Velma (David) Samuel, and Stacy Welch, Sr.; stepparents, Katrina Welch and Lee Wallace; siblings, Sakedria (Fairrest) Long, Anglenetta Evans, Shalonda Askew, Sheena Evans, Sariyah Welch and Cierra Jackson; six brothers, Travon Evans, Koryion Welch, Stacy Welch, Jr., Tyrie Welch, Tristian Welch and Tremelle Davenport; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; many other relatives and friends including Shaquita Stewart, Andrick Pruitt, James Thomas, Maurice Goines, Bruce Wesley, and Kishia Wesby.
Jovan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Flora (Edward) Welch, Velma Evans and Melvin Donald, brother, Stacy Evans, sister, Tanisha Evans, nephew, Stacy Evans, Jr., uncle, Arthur Evans, cousins, JaPeriay Quarles and Isaiah Simmons.
The family expresses special thanks to everyone for all expressions of sympathy, visits, kind thoughts, words of consolation, calls, texts, and most of all your prayers, Pastor Christopher (Lady Kenyatta) Pryor, Pastor Luciose (Kayron) Lewis, Sr., Bishop Larry (Shirley) Camel, Ivan E.
